WAHU 2025 is expected to attract farmers, wholesalers, market representatives, industry suppliers, advisors, government officials and researchers, all focused on the future of WA’s fresh produce industry.

COMING up on 22 October 2025 at Mandoon Estate in the Swan Valley, this biennial event focuses on building a sustainable and resilient future for Western Australia’s fresh produce sector. Hosted by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), with support from Perth Markets , Market West , WA Farm Direct , and Hort Innovation WAHU 2025 offers an engaging mix of conference sessions, panel discussions, trade displays and networking opportunities, all designed to help WA producers and industry stakeholders strengthen their businesses and grow industry connections. Planning for the future

Sessions will explore the return on investment of farm expansion, practical success stories from WA producers, and strategies for reconnecting consumers with the growers who feed them. There will also be a strong focus on environmental and economical sustainability, including tools to help producers measure and improve their environmental performance, and practical innovations in areas such as water recycling, resource use efficiency, and climate adaptation. Connecting WA Growers to Industry Solutions

Alongside the conference, the dedicated trade show will showcase the latest solutions supporting productivity, sustainability and business growth. Exhibitors will include providers of agricultural inputs and services, agritech and environmental monitoring, fresh produce supply chains and wholesale markets, farm and rural insurance, food security and community support services, business software and ERP solutions, and farm machinery and equipment. Whether it’s a new monitoring system, insurance product or software tool, growers will find a wealth of practical tools and services on display. The day will conclude with an informal networking sundowner, providing a relaxed setting to build valuable industry relationships and continue conversations sparked throughout the day.

This year’s theme, ‘Growing WA: Fresh food, sustainable futures,’ reflects the challenges and opportunities facing horticulture as the state works towards sustainable food production, future market growth, and long-term industry resilience. The program features leading voices from across industry and government, addressing topics ranging from WA’s future food security needs to innovations driving productivity and consumer trends shaping demand. Attendees will hear how Western Australian growers are adapting to resource constraints, shifting labour markets, and changing consumer expectations and how they can position their businesses for growth in a changing world.
