Link to your Credit Union savings account(s) to help cover items you’re paying from your checking account. If you don’t have enough money on deposit in checking, we’ll transfer funds from your selected savings accounts in increments of $100.00 or the available balance of your share account if your balance is less than $100. You will pay $5.00 per posting.

This comes standard with most of our checking accounts and provides overdraft coverage for bills and other payments made by Automated Clearing House (ACH) and checks. If you don’t have enough money in checking to cover a bill or check that has been presented for payment, Bounce Protection can cover those items — up to a total of $500. All you’ll pay is a $25 fee per item covered. Just remember to bring your account positive within 30 days.¹

You can opt in for overdraft coverage for debit card transactions. If you’re buying gas or groceries and don’t have enough money in checking, Bounce Protection Plus can cover those everyday transactions for you — up to a total of $500. You’ll pay 1 cent for each transaction covered when you meet certain same-day requirements before 8 p.m. CT, otherwise, $25. Just remember to bring your account positive within 30 days.¹

¹ Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdraft(s) on accounts opened for fewer than 90 days, if your account is not in good standing; which includes, but is not limited to, any negative balance or past-due loans of more than 30 days, if you are not making regular deposits, or if you have too many overdrafts. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be returned. Once an overdraft has occurred, you are obligated to bring your account to a positive balance within 30 days. Bounce Protection, Bounce Protection Plus and Overdraft Loan options are not available on Ascend checking accounts. When you apply and are approved for an overdraft loan, you can have access to up to $2,000 to cover checking account transactions.² Since you only pay interest if the loan is used, you can save money on overdraft fees.
