Optos to Introduce Silverstone at RANZCOOptos is excited to introduce Silverstone, a new generation ultra-widefield (UWF) retinal imaging device, at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) Congress in Brisbane, 28 October – 1 November. Silverstone enters the market as the only UWF retinal imaging device with integrated, UWF-guided swept source optical coherence tomography (OCT), which facilitates examination of the retina from vitreous through the choroidal-scleral interface. Silverstone also allows for non-mydriatic, non-contact imaging through most cataracts and small (2mm) pupils. As Optos’ most powerful retina examining tool to date, Silverstone works by producing a 200° single-capture optomap in less than half a second, and enables guided OCT scanning across the retina and into the far periphery. Routine optomap has been shown to enhance pathology detection and disease management, and to improve clinical workflow. Optos believes that the combination of these latest technologies will further enable eye care professionals to discover, diagnose, document, and treat ocular pathology in their patients.
